To prevent the earthquake from fading into oblivion and to ensure that the disaster is never forgotten, elementary and junior high school students who will shape the future of Iwate Prefecture will visit the affected areas and interact with people in coastal regions through nature-based activities. The 3-night, 4-day itinerary includes icebreakers, outdoor cooking of local cuisine (hittsumi soup), a visit to the Amihari Visitor Center, outdoor orienteering, and a climb of Mount Iwate!

This activity was themed around the world of Kenji Miyazawa! We went on a walk rally searching for nuts and berries, and then engaged in creative activities using the nuts and berries we collected. At night, we went on a night hike while stargazing, and on the second day, we cooked Hittsmi (a local noodle dish) outdoors!

The orientation camp for the "Regional Exploration Program," part of the National High School Student Experiential Activity Recognition System, aims to cultivate practical skills for solving regional issues and improve thinking, judgment, and expression skills in considering and implementing actions to solve various problems in real society.
